Dr. Alison Cowie comes to us after serving in the US Army for over 16 years, where she was a pilot and an intelligence officer. After multiple deployments to Afghanistan, she decided to leave active duty for the reserves, and follow her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the reserves, and adores life as a citizen/soldier.
Dr. Cowie is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, where she focused on aquatic, small animal, and farm animal medicine. Her special interests are aquatics, exotics, canine sports medicine, orthopedics, and experimental medicine. She is currently working towards her PhD in genetics at the University of Tennessee College of Experimental Medicine.
Hailing from Massachusetts, Dr. Cowie loves the outdoors. She can usually be found traveling the world on adventures, on her farm with her menagerie or reading and drinking coffee. Her current goal is to convince her parents to move to Yuma…..if the camel spiders taking up residence on her back porch don’t scare them away first!
